Sculptra is commonly used on the face in areas that tend to lose volume with age, these include the temples, the mid-cheek, jowls, lower face, marionette lines and nasolabial folds. Sculptra can be combined with other fillers to achieve a more youthful appearance.  

The effects of Sculptra commonly last for 2 years, though most experts recommend having annual top-up treatments to maintain the correct level of collagen stimulation to continue enjoying results.

Sculptra stimulates collagen production in the skin, promoting the production of the skin’s natural “scaffolding” unlike other fillers. Sculptra provides results that look natural and last for 2 years, twice as long as some other fillers.

Sculptra works by stimulating collagen, which can take up to 2 months to produce, so results of a treatment are best evaluated 60-80 days after injection.

Sculptra is not the best option for all areas of the body where fillers may be used – the red area (vermillion) of the lip, or peri-orbital area, for example.  

Sculptra is not a permanent solution and may require multiple injections to initially achieve the appearance that is desired, it will then require additional injections long term.  

After injection with Sculptra, there may be bruising, redness or swelling at the injection site, though this is similar to other fillers.

The 5-5-5 rule that should be followed after a Sculptra injection is that you should massage the injection area 5 times a day for 5 minutes at a time for 5 days after your injection.

A Sculptra treatment will last for approximately 30 minutes, during which the filler will be injected into areas of your face to restore facial volume and give a more youthful, natural appearance.
